TOO MUCH STUFF – CONTENTMENT – There used to be a saying in the 1980’s and 90’s that read, “He who dies with the most toys wins.” Well, now our kids are playing with all those toys without us; because, we’re too busy working so hard to pay for all of them. In the process we’ve created a generation of young people who have worked little to get a lot.
“Stuff” seems to be in abundance today–while contentment seems to be at an all time low. Since we’ve created a generation of kids that are insatiable and narcissistic, you may want to consider making Junior fulfill some responsibilities and obligations before just carte blanche allowing him to enjoy certain rights and privileges–including the use of all those toys you’ve worked so hard to acquire. It will be a tremendous character building experience for both parent and child.
