SLEEP MATTERS – When it comes to our children’s negative behavior patterns, sometimes what we least expect, and most overlook, could actually be a contributing factor to our premature gray! For instance, if our kids do not get sufficient rest each night, the likelihood of negative behaviors increase. Any subtle negative behaviors that our kids might be dealing with are likely to grow exponentially when proper rest isn’t experienced.
For children 1-3-years-old, they need 12-14 hours of sleep every night. For children 3-6-years-old, 11-12 hours is needed, and 7-12-years-old, 10-11 hours. Our teenagers will require 8.5–9.5 hours of sleep every night. Establishing an appropriate bed time just might be a mom and dad’s easiest and most effective tool in their parenting arsenal.
