Smartphones are a great distraction for both young and old alike. While this distraction may be helpful for passing time in a waiting room, it’s detrimental to sharing our faith with one another.
It’s imperative to pass along our faith to the younger generation. How else will they come to know and lead others to Jesus?
The Importance of Passing on Our Faith
Today’s young people are too often using their digital devices to amuse themselves into imbecility, while we parents are too often using these same gadgets to turn the American dream into an American nightmare. And the result? More and more families are failing to put enough margin in their lives to effectively pass-on their faith to their kids.
Psalm 78 is a great Biblical reference to help put some of this in perspective. It’s a long chapter that discusses the importance of passing on our faith to the next generation. To give our kids and grandkids the best chance of experiencing eternal life, we must be intentional to share with them the history and truth of God and His Word.
