If our responsibility as parents is to protect our children’s eyes and ears from the vulgar evil of this world, then why in the world do we have cable?
I work with kids for a living. Because of this, I have an inside scoop into pop culture. That’s the only reason I maintain even a basic television package.
Be Careful Little Eyes
I’m not talking about porn, HBO, or Showtime either. Unless we have specific ministry intentions, even many of the basic channels should not be in our homes.
The so-called “family channels” aren’t always so family-friendly. Oftentimes they are subtle seductions of our young children’s minds.
The masses may say I’m wrong, but I would disagree. I’ve seen the results of these seemingly harmless indoctrinations for decades. Better futures and attitudes for our kids start with us. It means having a greater eye and ear for what our kids see and hear.
