With the advent of social media, comes a higher focus on the number of “friends” people have. Is quantity really more important than quality?

How to Help Your Child Choose Friends

How many “friends” does your child actually have? We need to discuss the definition of healthy friendships, as social media has helped skew its true meaning. When it comes to friendship, quality trumps quantity. Proverbs 18: 24 says, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother.”

All these “friends” our kids boast about may actually be more along the lines of acquaintances. Let’s consider working with our kids to establish a better vetting process. You may also want to collaborate with them to set limits on their number of friends.
