You’ve heard of free range chickens, right? Well, these days, there are free range kids running around too.
Isn’t Allowing your kids to be independent a good thing? Are there benefits to setting healthy boundaries?
Why Boundaries Must Be Set for Your Kids
I really think one reason parents let their small children freely explore territories that are either invading the space of others, or inherently dangerous, is because parents are exhausted. Any window of time that they can have to breathe easy is cherished.
If these same parents spent more time upfront teaching their kids to mind them, and respect boundaries, their kids would be more manageable, and emotionally well-adjusted. All the while, the parents would be less exhausted.
