Missing Out

It’s easy to burn the candle at both ends in order to give our kids everything that we think they need. But by doing so we can easily forfeit the very thing that they need most in life; and that is us, their parents.

They don’t just need us. They actually want us. Working with kids for a living at Shepherd’s Hill Academy, I actually hear this straight from the horse’s mouth.

One thing is for sure. On our death bed, we aren’t going to say, “I wish I would have spent more time at the office.” We don’t get a second crack at our kid’s childhood.

Psalm 127:2 says, “in vain you rise early and stay up late toiling for food to eat. For he grants sleep to those he loves.”
