Do you want peace in your home?
If you do you will need to confront sin.
Confront Sin
If we are going to be effective parents then confrontation is something we must get familiar with. Don’t think it will not look a little messy in the process. An example? Perhaps you have to leave a public venue because your child is misbehaving. Remember, Jesus actually contemplated what he was going to do when he fashioned a whip out of cords, turned over the tables of the money changers, and drove everyone out of the temple. He did this without sinning because his motives were pure and in keeping with the will of God.
Similarly to the temple cleansing- when our kids are out of the Will of God it is up to us to confront the sin and cleanse it from their hearts and minds. Although not always through physical means, it is still done through the biblical model of loving discipline.
