COMPARTMENTALIZATION – Please be aware of the fact that today’s culture has a much greater opportunity to influence the behavior and worldview of your kids than you might realize. Because of today’s prevailing postmodern worldview–proliferated through the omnipresence of music, movies, and the digital world, kids can compartmentalize their lives and their faith in much the same way–just like the different scenes in a movie or on a video game. Today’s kids are wired this way.
This is why they can reconcile an ungodly activity or habit on Saturday, and then play the role of Billy Graham while attending church on Sunday. To counter this compartmentalization, parents have little choice to limit unbridled access to unsupervised digital activities and replace them with activities that foster critical thought and accountability. A life of screens will result in a life of scenes!
