Saving for college is wise.

We need wisdom for the spending.
College Bound
I’m amazed at the number of people who will save for years to send their kids to college. And for no other reason than that, it’s just “what parents are supposed to do.”
If your child has no idea what he or she wants to do in life paying for a four-year party degree 500 miles from home with no accountability isn’t a wise investment. Wouldn’t it be wiser to help Junior with his higher education after he proves himself responsible and motivated enough to put himself through a couple of years of community college?
Working his way through a local school will help give him the strength of character to survive a distant school that might be a better fit with his major. It will also help you be assured that your investment is not wasted!
