Smartphones and other similar mobile devices such as tablets should be reserved for parents only.
This may sound extreme, but consider the following as to why a smartphone should be for adults only.
Let me ask you a loaded question. Would you allow your 13 year old son or daughter to hang out all day and all night with Hugh Hefner, Bob Guccione or Larry Flynt with absolutely no supervision?
Would you allow those same kids to walk the streets of the sleaziest side of town at three in the morning and then invite those breed of characters into your home anytime day or night—even into the privacy of Junior’s bedroom?
Giving our kids unlimited and/or unsupervised access to smartphones is, in many ways, worse than everything I’ve just mentioned. Because I don’t think Playboy, Penthouse or Hustler magazines even scratch the surface of what our kids can freely view and even engage in on the Internet. A smartphone is an “Adult Toy.”
