Wake Up Parents

Perhaps you’ve heard of the social justice movement, woke. Well, I’ve got my own movement that parents need to wake up to.

Many parents believe that if they ask too much of their kids, say no too much, show too much outward love and affection, or discipline too much or too consistently, that their kids will hate them. But the opposite is true. The deeper part of your kids not only wants but needs these things from you.

If not, then why does virtually every student thank the team members of Shepherd’s Hill Academy upon graduation for adhering to all these things. Because nobody consistently demands more of teens than Shepherds Hill.

Wake up, parents. God has called you to be a peacemaker, not a peacekeeper.
