Many parents know the pressure competitive sports can place on a family.
In some cases, sporting events can consume much of the week. Should teens participate in competitive sports?
I may not be popular for saying this; but, it sure seems to me that there are too many parents more interested in their kids’ making the team than making the grade—and more interested in making the grade than growing in character. Sometimes character growth comes more from knowing our limits than exceeding them.
Let’s go back to sports.
When each of our kids are involved in every sport in every season, another part of their and our lives is going to suffer somehow. It may be a relationship builder, and a character builder, for everyone to decide way ahead time what kind of time can be devoted to what sport, or sports, without compromising health and/or God and family relationships.
