The amount of time your kid spends on media can be similar to morphine use.
Sound a bit extreme? Maybe, but let me explain.
Recognizing our culture’s idolatrous love affair with entertainment and amusement, as good parents, we must be more alert and discerning with not just what we allow our kids to be entertained and amused by, but also how often.
Long before the Digital Age, A.W. Tozer said, “I believe that entertainment and amusements are the work of the enemy to keep dying men from knowing they’re dying and to keep enemies of God from remembering they’re enemies.”
Like morphine, constant amusement can be an addictive catharsis that simply numbs one through life. Let’s keep our kids alive, alert and friends of God by putting wise time limits on what they watch and listen to.
