It is probably more important now, more than ever, for parents to intentionally instill good character into their child.
For many parents this may not seem very easy. Here is a brief tip to instill good character in your child.
Instill Good Character in Your Child
Godly parents seeking to instill good character in their kids know they can look to Scriptures for guidance. By using Scripture as your point of reference, you will often contradict the advice of today’s pop psychology and political correct leaders.
What many don’t tell you about instilling good character in your kids is that, it often comes from the tragedies and struggles that occur in their life.
Say you told your son to wear knee pads the next time he used his skateboard. A few hours later, he proceeds to skate around without knee pads. The end result landed him in the emergency room with some stitches.
A creative way to instill good character in this example could be to require your son to work off a percentage of the insurance deductible. This could come in the form of them doing household projects or chores.
The next time your child slips-up in life, allow them to endure the natural consequences. Through their struggles they may grow in godly character.
