1 Problem with Watching Too Much Reality TV [One Minute Feature]

Reality television has been on the scene for some time now. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look to be going anywhere any time soon.

1 Problem with Watching Too Much Reality TV [One Minute Feature]

Today, I provide parents with one problem in watching too much reality TV.

When I think of all the reality shows and sitcoms many Christian parents and their kids watch regularly, I cringe. And this is not to mention the actual reality shows that take place on social media literally round-the-clock. So much of social media, and many of these TV reality shows, portray lifestyles of indulgence, chaos, immorality and strife.

Yet, Proverbs 17:1 says:  “Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.” I’m not against the occasional dose of gross reality. What I do find dangerous, however, for many families as a whole and particularly for our kids, is when we find amusement in regularly seeing people and relationships self-destruct.
