Even the smallest of children have emotions, it’s harnessing those emotions that we need to teach to them as parents.
Emotions are something we should all feel at different times such as anger or shame. Have you taught your children how to work through these emotions? Do our kids understand that emotions are natural to us as humans?
Harnessed Emotions
Humans are given different emotions that are wired into us by God. Our kids are little humans in an emotional maturation process. Because there are many emotions to be felt and wisely expressed in their proper time and circumstance. It’s our job as good parents to make sure these emotions are tempered by the wisdom and the power of God.
Anger, for example, is one of the emotions we should all feel at one time one another. Our kids feel it, but we should train our kids to properly harness that anger, the same is true about shame. Shame is one of the precursors to repentance. Yet when shame is quailed by the actual act of repentance, shame then becomes its own antidote.
