Many of today’s parents are terrified to play the parental role with their kids and teens. If they discipline too harshly, their kids might grow to resent them. If parents love too openly, they run the risk of eternal embarrassment for their teens.

It seems that too much love or discipline strikes fear into the hearts of parents. How, then, are we to parent our kids?
Why Being ‘Too Much’ May Benefit Your Kids
Perhaps you’ve heard of the recent slang term, “woke?” Well, there’s something that many parents need to wake up to. Parents seem to think that their kids will hate them if they demand too much, say “no” too often, show too much outward affection, or discipline them. Wouldn’t you know, just the opposite is true!
Deep down, your kids not only need but actually want these things from you. If this weren’t the case, why then does virtually every student thank the team members at Shepherd’s Hill Academy for these very things upon graduation? It’s time for parents to become “woke” to the fact that their kids need proper parenting in order to become happy and healthy members of society. So discipline properly, and love openly. Your kids may thank you for it later.
