How can we as parents best raise our children without neglecting or abusing the most important parenting tool in our toolbox?

The Power of Scripture

There’s a big problem today with parents neglecting and even abusing their kids. However, I would argue that even more neglected and abused is the tool that can actually prevent this child neglect and abuse. I’m talking about the Bible.

How do we neglect the Bible? We don’t read it. How do we abuse Scripture? We read it, but then allow the pressures and ideals of our culture to dictate our decisions. But why? Maybe we are afraid of being labeled as outdated fundamentalists, or even abusers or brainwashers.

Parents, there are times where we need to lay down the law at home and forget what the rest of the world has to say about us. The testimonies of the students at Shepherd’s Hill Academy affirm what I’m telling you.
