If you struggle to tell your child that you love them, maybe you should consider what hearing that simple statement does for them.
The Power of Love
Many Dads struggle with saying the words “I love you.” This is especially true when it’s directed toward their sons. Let me be blunt with you, dad. Get over it! In fact, say it regularly, because you virtually can’t say it enough. At Shepherd’s Hill Academy, I make it a habit to randomly tell our students “I love you,” They just light up instantly. The newer kids sometimes look shocked or confused, even suspicious at first. But, I get over it, because it doesn’t take long before their mouths smile and their eyes illuminate. In a short time, they can’t hear it enough. If I can get this kind of response from a distant teenager, just think about what you’ll get with your own DNA!
