Is it inherently wrong to desire material items? Or to purchase them at all?
A Simple Solution to the Entitlement Problem
I previously mentioned that we were going to use this minute feature to talk about how to increase your kids’ gratitude and diminish their entitlement. If you didn’t catch our previous episode, click here to go back. Let’s start with this simple exercise. Quit buying them so much stuff all the time. Put your family through an austerity program for awhile, and determine what is truly a need.
Not only will you save money, but your kids will also be much more grateful when you do make a purchase based on their desire. To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with desiring things, and even getting them. But, when every desire is routinely fulfilled, gratefulness goes out of the window.
